Why STELE?

A cutting board should feel as considered as the rest of the kitchen — the marble island, the Dutch oven, the knives you reach for every evening. STELE is crafted of solid 304 food-grade stainless steel, handmade in the USA, and finished to live out on the counter. Non-porous and dishwasher-safe, it is designed for daily prep, easy hosting, and years of gathering around the same surface.

Overview

STELE stainless cutting board styled on a marble island

Leave it out. The brushed steel has a quiet, collected look that belongs beside dinnerware and stone — not tucked in a slot. Use it to chop herbs, cover the island while you cook, span the prep sink when you need more room, or carry a board of fruit and cheese to the table. Because the steel is solid, not plated, it can also go over a gas burner or charcoal grill for a simple breakfast or a piece of fish. Not for electric or glass-top stoves.

It is the piece you set down once and stop putting away.

Why solid stainless

Most boards ask you to choose: wood that needs oiling and never sees the dishwasher, plastic that scars and can shed into food, or a “stainless” finish that is only a thin plating over another metal. STELE is none of those. It is 100% solid 304 stainless, the same food-grade steel all the way through — corner, edge, and center.

Solid 304 stainless throughout, compared with a plated finish

Nothing soaks in. Odors do not linger. There is no coating to wear away, and no porous grain to take on color. You care for it the way you care for good cookware: wash it, dry it, set it back on the island.

Construction

  • Crafted of solid 304 food-grade stainless steel throughout — not plated, coated, or laminated.
  • Finished in a #4 brushed grain that softens with daily use; fine knife marks blend into the steel rather than reading as wear.
  • Water-jet cut for a smooth, even edge, then formed with a return-bent profile that rests against marble, quartzite, honed granite, and quartz.
  • Handmade and inspected in the USA by Custom Fabrication and Coatings. Each board is reviewed twice before it ships.
  • Non-porous and bacteria-resistant. Safe for the dishwasher; no oiling required.
  • Substantial enough to protect the stone, sit over a prep sink, and take gentle heat on gas or charcoal.

Return-bent edge designed to rest along the counter

The folded edge is the detail you feel as soon as you set it down. It holds the board in place on marble and quartzite, so it does not drift toward the range, and it will not scratch the stone. Over the prep sink, that same edge keeps the surface still while you work.

How we use it

This is a versatile, everyday piece — as at home on a weeknight as it is when you are setting the table.

Everyday prep

Herbs and vegetables prepared on a STELE board

Chop, slice, and mince on a surface that stays beautiful. Non-porous and dishwasher-safe, it will not take on the scent of garlic or the stain of berries.

On the island

Keep it out as a cover for marble or quartzite. It protects the stone from heat and from the knife, and it looks as though it has always lived there.

Over the prep sink

When the island is full, rest it over the sink for another stretch of workspace. When you are finished, it returns to the counter — or the dishwasher.

From kitchen to table

Carry bread, fruit, or a simple cheese board straight to the table. The brushed finish sits comfortably next to stoneware and linen. No extra platter required.

Pastry and baking

Roll dough on a cool, even surface, or warm the board in the oven and slide bread onto it. One piece, from the island to the oven, then a rinse.

A little heat

Because the steel is solid, you may set it on a gas burner, charcoal grill, or Big Green Egg. Keep the heat low to medium and increase gradually. Breakfast, vegetables, a fillet. Not for electric or glass-top stoves. Most of us use STELE to cut. The heat is simply there when you want it.

Care

Wipe clean, or place in the dishwasher with the rest of the evening. No oiling, no special soaps, no staining. After cooking on it, a gentle scrape and a rinse are enough. Dry and return it to the island.

Details & questions

Will it scratch marble or granite?

No. The board is weighted to stay where you set it. The return-bent edge rests along marble, quartzite, and granite so it does not slide, and the underside is not a sharp edge against the stone.

How do I care for it?

Wipe it, or run it through the dishwasher. Nothing soaks in. No oiling or special care. After cooking on it, scrape and rinse.

Can I cook on it?

Yes — on a gas burner, charcoal grill, or Big Green Egg, at low-to-medium heat, increased gradually. 304 stainless is the same food-grade steel used on commercial flat-tops. Not for electric or glass-top stoves.

What does the lifetime warranty include?

The structure, for as long as you have the board. If it warps, bends, or fails, email support@steleboard.com for a replacement or refund. No receipt hunt, no expiration.

When will it arrive?

Each board is made and inspected to order, then shipped at no charge. You will receive tracking when it is on its way.
